Thanks be! Another hand quilted!! ❤️
Thank you for the information about the 'Little Twig' sweater. I already had the pattern and yarn before watching your video. I was nervous about starting before, you have reassured and inspired me to start it! Thank you!
looking like shashiko, are you still designing knits?
yo 14 yr ago
Your quilt is looking stunning! Thank you so much for sharing your hand sewing tips!
Just love your podcasts! Please continue posting if you feel up to it!
Hi Susan...this is Susan from Wisconsin! I do believe you live by Madison...right ?im over in Owen Wisconsin with Marshfield on one side n Chippewa falls on the other side
Nice way to start my day and it's so nice to see you. I just finished a sweater last night and will knit a pair of socks before starting my Christmas sweater. Lovely quilt and I do love the blue and white too because that is what I am working on. I agree the hand quilting is the best. Will be looking forward to seeing more of you soon. PS I found my tiny red leaf last week :)
I just found you on Instagram through the hashtag for the last homely house! I obviously have a lot of enjoyable viewing ahead!😍
Hey
Just came across your videos. Love the Kaffe fabric on the back! Good to see you again! Like the simplicity of the pattern, 5" blocks. Keep posting when you can!! 💚
Hello from Deep South Texas on the US/Mexico border. So wonderful that you’re recording again. Big hugs! -lajoyagirl
What is link and name of the knit kit ? Your sweater colors are so nice ! Is it your pattern? Yarn? Sock pattern link? TY
The sock pattern is my How I Make My Socks free pattern. The cardigan is my own handspun yarn but I used the Wave of Change pattern by Denise Bayron.
So lovely to see you again! Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
Love everything you do…..you have so many fun ideas! Thankyou!
thank you, judith!
The sweater and handspun socks are beautiful. Very inspiring.
thank you, Dana!
The quilt and socks are beautiful. So nice to see you back on UA-cam.
So good to spend time with you again on YT. Since the start of Covid, I’ve renewed my love of making quilts and have also opted for a much more relaxed approach than my previous quilting adventures. Coincidentally, my current quilt will have the same backing that you have on this one in the video. It’s one of my favorites. I’m playing around with different types of binding and am wondering how wide your binding strips are on this quilt. Wishing you all the best❤️
2.5 - inches for this one. I have cut my own binding before and made it wider like 3-inches or one time even 4-inches. This is the measurement before folding in half, of course.
@@SusanBAnderson I like the look of the thin edging on this one. Thanks, Susan!!
What a treat to see you again so soon! Delightful!
thanks, joanne!
How nice to see you back with such a lovely video. The quilt is divine and I love your way of binding. Hand sewing is so calming to do but to watch as well! Your cardigan is beautiful- I aim one day to be able to knit something with my hand spun yarn - but I’ve a bit of practice to go yet before I produce yarn that is fit for use!! 🌸
Thank you. My handspun is nothing great but when knit up it looks okay. You should try it!
So great to see you back on YT again!
Thank you❤️!
I am soothed watching you stitch. Thank you!
Thanks for joining me.
❤️
thanks, mary jean!
Hey
That fabric is joyous! I love your knitting kits. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!
Thank you for this great video! I was so happy to see this quilt on Instagram. You answered all my questions about it except what needles do you use? I’ve been a fan of yours for ages. I appreciate you!
Oh, thank you! I appreciate the support. I don't know what needle I use for the hand quilting. I just find one that works. If I get a new needle I'll be sure to keep the package and share. I get asked this a lot!
Always a pleasure ❤️
You're so kind. Thank you for joining me.
Yay! So glad to see you making videos again. Looking forward to seeing what you’re working on, as always.
Thank you❤️
I wanted to stop in and enjoy this visit, and it's timing is so perfect. I have a few projects that are "stalled" in the stage between quilt top to sandwich. Seeing yours moving along is such a good reminder of why quilting can be so satisfying (especially your hand quilting lines)
Yay! It’s the best. Good to see you here.
Great video, Susan! You show how hand stitching is so beautiful and such a mindfulness art! Love the sox too and am wondering when your updated sock pattern will be out? Have one Nightfall doll completed and almost finished with Panda Bear and sweater, so thank you for all your great designs and everything you bring to us!
Hi Kathi! Not sure when! But soon.
Beautiful quilt! I know it’s not a “simple” process, but the simplicity of the quilt really lets the fabric stand out. So nice to see a new video from you.
Yes! Thank you.
Lovely to have you back in my feed. TaKe care
Thank you
I love how you are making time to quilt. Knitting is such a easy grab, doesn't need a lot of space craft...and it takes some mind space for me to think about working on a quilt. I understand the peacefulness of the handstitching though....I did my binding w/ handstitching and just loved it!
I’m going to try that today with the binding. ❤️
Lovely to have you back Susan. Love the quilt. Catherine
Thank you
Love the hand quilting! And the socks are wonderful…looking forward to the updated how I make my socks (though I have failed to become a sock knitter…mittens love - socks I’m not good at. Enjoyed your video and keeping them coming!
Thanks Kim!!
So happy to see your video! Enjoyed your sock show and tell. Please keep doing more videos.
Thank you!!! ❤️
Thank you Susan! I subscribe to Kate's podcast and love it and was SO happy to find this episode of your hand quilting! I am almost finished with my first Nightfall Doll. I have told so many people who knit and those who don't but should that your patterns are SO WELL written - I love them. I have made 2 Alpacas too. You have helped to inspire me to get back to piecing and quilting - so many projects, so little time. I so appreciate your work.🌺
Oh yay!! Thanks for the support. ❤️
An idea foe a quilting thimble for you. If you push with the pad of your finger Clover makes a leather thimble with a little metal disc in the pad. Lasts much longer. Also I find thimbles can be a bit big for me as well so I put it on and then wrap tape around the top. The sticker the tape the better so not washi tape. Happy quilting 🇨🇦
Okay! I saw that one and I think I will try it. Thank you for the ideas!
@@SusanBAnderson 👍
I would love more videos. I checked your channel just a few weeks ago to see if you had anything new…so what a surprise to see you today!
That’s so nice! Thank you
So much fun crafting with you today. Looking forward to being in person one day soon. Always a delight to see you and your makings. Sending love 💕
That would be the best! Thanks for joining me Rebecca!
Lovely to see you again! And I love that quilt! Great design, colors and quilting. I've only machine quilted, will definitely give this a try. How I Make My Socks was my first sock pattern. Great to learn sock knitting. I always recommend it for those wanting to start socks.
Thank you! It’s a good one. I’m working on rewriting that pattern now with different sizes and a few good tips.
I love hand quilting too - haven’t made one for 8 years hmmmm maybe 🤔
Do it!!
Really enjoy watching yr video, nice to ”see” you! I a m curious how you cast on yr socks, it looks so nice! Greetings from Vienna, Austria ☀️🌸☺️
Greetings to you. I use a long tail cast on. Super simple.
The quilt is fab.
Thank you
So fun to see a new video pop up!! You were my first podcast I ever watched on UA-cam - and then I got hooked. So many lovely creative people like you who share. Thanks!!!
Awww. That’s so fun.
Yaaay…I love your quilt. Super special fabrics I agree. Thanks for sharing with us.
Yes, such beautiful fabric.
Delighted to spend some time with you Susan. You are so calming, I enjoyed this vlog so very very much. It was such a treat to see your name pop up!. I loved hearing about your quilting and seeing your socks - I’m a prolific sock knitter but I haven’t used Arne and Carlos’ designed wool much - stunning colours! I’ve been having chemo this year due to breast cancer and have lost my hair so I’m about to make some bucket hats using Kaffe fabrics to get me through the summer ( I’d need to get a wriggle on!). I’m excited to be using his fabrics as they are so beautiful and I always smile when I see them. I can’t explain how much joy colour and crafting have brought to me this year. Your mermaids and baby hats are coming up shortly on my list too! I would be delighted if you do more videos and pop up for a chat again to tell us what you are up to. Have a lovely weekend and thankyou for making my day 💖🌸
Good luck with your journey to health. Sending you love.
Love the video 💕💕💕💕Marie
Thanks Marie!
OMG Susan!!! So excited to see you again. I will never ever forget the classes that I took with you at DFW Fiberfest. I miss seeing you. The sweater that you are wearing is gorgeous. What is your anti-aging secret? You look fantastic. Best to you from Texas where we are 47 days without rain and 20+ days of triple digit temperatures.
Ha! I have no secret. You’re too kind. Thank you for joining me.
So glad to see your new video. Very nice socks. Hope you are able to do more videos. I have a couple of questions about your quilting. I was so impressed how you quilt. Do you use pins or safety pins to hold down as you quilt, use different color threads & do you machine sew or hand sew your binding on? Sorry for the many questions I was so so impressed with your quilting & your knitting. Marsha
Hi Marsha! I use pins for basting. I machine sew the binding on and then hand stitch it down on the backside. Thanks for watching!!
